Substitutes

Unless otherwise instructed, we will substitute with varieties closest in colour, but you are welcome to specify preferred varieties.

How The Plants Are Dispatched
Plants are sent out by 1st Class Letter Post.
Each variety is labelled and packed separately with the roots wrapped in damp newspaper, keeping the plants in good condition during transit.
Plants should be unpacked immediately on arrival and planted out as soon as possible.
Our plants are grown in cool conditions, so that they are stocky and hardy with well developed roots. We "stop" the plants in January so that by dispatch time, they will have strong side shoots. They are ready for planting out in March and will withstand the usual expected temperatures for that time of year. We send out our growing tips leaflet with acknowledgements.

Collecting Plants
You are welcome to collect your plants from the nursery. As well as saving money, you will have the advantage of plants left in their pots so that you can plant them out whenever and at a pace that suits you. Click here for our opening times. Please phone in advance to tell us when you are coming.
