We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here, developing the nursery into what it is today. We have loved the fact that we are surrounded by fantastic countryside View of house in such a beautiful area - our location enables us to enjoy the rural surroundings but we are close enough to the main road and local towns to give plenty of business opportunity. When we arrived here we were welcomed into the village of Penybont and soon felt that we were part of the local community. It has been a great place to raise our family of three children.

From day one we decided to focus on plants (although we do sell more besides) and have always been proud of the quality and choice of the plants we have produced and those that we buy in from other growers. Our customers always remark that they choose to come to us for plants because they rarely have failures.

We have split the site into two areas. The back of the site is used for the nursery which has several polytunnels, a large aluminium glasshouse and a standing out area. Tunnel area The tunnels are all well maintained and most have gas and water connections to make heating and watering easier. The tunnels are well used from February to June when all the bedding and patio plants are growing together with plenty of hanging baskets. They are filled again from August onwards with winter flowering pansies and primulas and potted bulbs for spring sales. In October we start off our crop of autumn sown sweet peas also for sale the following spring. The front of the site is our customer area, well laid out with plenty of stands and benches to display our plants. Tunnel area There are two outdoor covered areas and a tunnel which we use for plant sales early in the season The timber built shop was built in two stages and adapts itself to different uses as the seasons change. There is also a good sized tarmaced car park and a small children’s play area.

The original house was built in the early 20th century and the extension was added in 1995, creating a substantial and spacious 5 bedroom family house.

The following photographs should give an idea of the character of the house.
