The Nursery
We Are Growers of PlantsFirst and foremost we are a plant nursery and we like to grow as many as possible of the plants that we sell.

However our space is limited and so we have to decide what to grow ourselves and what to buy in from other nurseries. Our aim is to give our customers a large choice across the range of garden plants, equalling or bettering many larger garden centres.
Herbaceous Perennials and Rockery Plants
We are very proud of the range of perennial plants we offer for sale. Some we buy in from other nurseries but many we propagate and grow on ourselves. The widest selection is always available in the spring and this is the best and most economical time to buy. Most herbaceous plants bought small in the spring make substantial plants by the end of their first season. We are always on the lookout for new varieties and so hope that our customers find something different each time they call.

Summer Bedding and Patio Plants
We grow all our own bedding plants giving our customers a choice of the familiar favourites and a few more unusual ones. We grow the plants 'hard' so that they can cope well with our Mid Wales weather and we time our growing so that the plants are at their best at the time when the risk of frost has passed.
'Patio Plants' have taken the place of large bedding displays. We grow an enormous range of plants for patio containers from the traditional Geraniums, Fuchsias, and Begonias to more recent favourites such as Surfinias and Million Bells. Each year we like to try new varieties, ensuring that neither we or our customers never get bored.

Hanging Baskets and Containers
As a natural progression from the basket plants we grow, we have a good reputation for planting up hanging baskets. We refill customers own baskets and also produce new ones for sale at the nursery.

We are very happy to fill baskets to our customers' requirements (perhaps a special colour scheme or particular plants). We often fill baskets for weddings, choosing the plants to match the wedding colours. We also take care to plant baskets with reference to their ultimate position. We include different plants in baskets for shaded areas than in those in direct sun. We usually line the baskets in the traditional way with moss but have done some experiments with sheep's wool, the results of which were very promising.
Winter baskets like those shown here are available at the nursery in the autumn.
Sweet Peas
As growers we began with sweet peas and these remain our particular speciality. We run a mail order business sending out plants to all parts of the UK . The plants are autumn sown and ready for planting outside in March.
