The Team
At first there were Keith and Celia (the original Plantsmiths)Keith
Keith describes himself as "Chief of Everything" - The watering, the seed sowing, the propagation, the maintenance and sales. He takes the credit for everything but always blames everyone else when things go wrong!
Celia
Celia is the real boss and accepts the blame for everything. She is the chief administration officer, responsible for the smooth running of the nursery - an almost impossible task in the busy months of May and June!
The three J's are an essential part of the team - Jenny, Julie and Jennifer
Jenny
Jenny has been helping us at busy times since 1993. She's usually found behind the scenes in "Jen's Tunnel". She's an expert potter-on and keeps Keith on his toes with the watering!
Julie
Julie has been with us since 1995 and puts her hand to all sorts of jobs, both in the shop and on the production side. (She is responsible for most of the hanging baskets.) She's great at tidying up while the rest of us argue about who created the mess in the first place!
Jennifer
Jennifer started working here in 1998. She often serves in the shop, a job well suited to her as she appears to know everyone in Powys.
And then there was Gaynor...
Gaynor
Gaynor joined us in 2003. She's usually to be found serving in the shop, where she's always super efficient. Being a Knighton girl, she knows the few people that Jennifer dosen't.
Not all our team members have two legs!
Frankie
Frankie arrived here by accident as a 6 week old kitten in 1996. She is supposed to earn her living as pest control officer but sometimes lacks motivation. She prefers to be in charge of time and motion - She spends a lot of time observing others at work!
Tilly
Tilly joined us in August 2002 as a trainee pest control officer. She spent her first few weeks learning office management. She has occasionally caught a mouse. So far her greatest success has been to keep Frankie on her toes. A little competition can be an advantage!
Humbug and Jasper
Humbug joined the team in October 2003, Jasper two years later. They are employed as weed-controllers, their favourite food being dandelions.
